Rooted in Science & Conservation: About Wild Growth
Welcome to Wild Growth Farm & Nursery. Based in the Winston-Salem area of North Carolina, we specialize in breeding, propagating, and cultivating exotic carnivorous plants—from towering Sarracenia pitcher plants to delicate Pinguicula butterworts, sticky Drosera, and razor-sharp Venus Flytraps.
Our Story
Wild Growth began as a partnership inside a collegiate Horticulture program
We teamed up early in our studies over a shared passion for plant science, ethical conservation, and functional botany—focusing heavily on medicinal herbs and the unique mechanics of carnivorous plants. What started as shared greenhouse projects, propagation experiments, and a deep interest in native ecology quickly grew into a bigger vision.
We recognized the vital role carnivorous plants play in fragile bog ecosystems and saw a clear need for ethically grown, healthy specimens in the regional plant community. We combined our horticultural background to turn our academic collaboration into Wild Growth Farm & Nursery.
Behind the Name
We chose the name Wild Growth as a reflection of two core ideas:
The Plants: Carnivorous flora are untamed, highly adaptive, and fiercely wild predators in the plant kingdom.
Our Mindset: It represents our philosophy as growers—constantly evolving, adapting to new challenges, and pushing to grow wildly and rapidly from our roots.
What We Stand For
We bring rigorous horticultural care and environmental responsibility to every tray in our greenhouse:
100% Nursery-Propagated: Conservation is at the heart of what we do. Every plant we sell is ethically propagated and grown in-house to protect wild populations and native habitats.
Horticultural Standards: We apply precise greenhouse management, science-backed propagation techniques, and obsessive care to ensure every plant leaves our nursery healthy and thriving.
Community & Education: From local farmers markets and brewery pop-ups to regional plant swaps, we love demystifying carnivorous plant care, sharing the science behind them, and helping growers of all levels succeed.
